Name:Camille Gobert
Bio:

I am a postdoctoral researcher in HCI working in the ex)situ group at Paris-Saclay University.

I am mainly interested in studying, critiquing and rethinking “technical” topics such as programming and operating systems from a human-centric perspective. These days, I also qualify my research approach as postmodern: I prefer finding ways to improve interaction by adapting to the social and digital constraints of imperfect but widespread ecosystems rather than rethinking everything from the ground up.

I currently work on a local-first environment for authoring books using web technologies, most notably on the synchronous reactive file system that powers the back-end. Before that, from 2020 to 2024, I conducted research on complementing text editors with additional projections for several established computer languages, as shown in i-LaTeX (CHI’22) and Lorgnette (UIST’23).
